Hikvision DS-2CD2632F-I 3MP IR Varifocal Bullet Review

This is Hikvision’s larger bullet and includes additional features over their mini bullet. First and most important is the 2.8mm-12mm lens allowing for a wider view than available with the mini bullet with a 4mm lens. It also had a microSD card slot for in-camera recording. Another feature is the bright IR LEDs with about twice as many as the mini bullet. The “S” version also had audio and alarm inputs and outputs.

Hikvision DS-2CD6412FWD-30 1.3MP Covert Camera Review

Ever want to make a camera less visible, hide it from view, be discrete? For example, maybe condo rules prohibit you from having a camera, or you want cameras in your home, but you don’t want them to stick out for aesthetic reasons. The Hikvision DS-2CD6412FWD-30 may be for you. The camera electronics are in a box about 4 x 3″ and 1 1/4″ tall, the camera itself is about 2″ long. While the concept is not new, the Axis P12 has been out about year, but the price point makes this an affordable choice.

Hikvision DS-2CD2532F-I 3MP Outdoor IR Mini Dome Review

This is by far the smallest IR Mini Dome I’ve ever reviewed. The actual dome measures about 1 3/4″ and the entire camera sits in the palm of my hand without touching any fingers, that’s small. Small usually means sacrificing features and quality, but in this case, this may be one of the better Hikvision cameras I reviewed.  Continue reading ‘Hikvision DS-2CD2532F-I 3MP Outdoor IR Mini Dome Review’

Hikvision DS-2CD3332-I 3MP Outdoor Eyeball/Turret/Mini Dome Camera Review

Here’s an camera that is called by different names, even on the manufacturers website. Sometimes it’s called a mini dome, a turret but most in the industry refer to this as an eyeball camera. Sort of a cross between a bullet and dome. Has the ease of installation and easier aiming of a bullet, but the round more compact shape of a mini dome without some of the negatives associated with domes.

Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-IS 3MP IR Varifocal Vandal Dome Review

Where the previously reviewed Hikvision IR mini dome is a very basic camera with limitations, the Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-IS has all the bells and whistles. It’s a full 3-Axis dome, has a microSD card slot with in-camera playback, two-way audio, alarm inputs but also has a nice wide range varifocal lens from a very wide 2.8mm to a good telephoto 12mm. Although it costs a little more than it’s little brother, it’s a far better camera in many respects.

Hikvision DS-2CD2132-I 3MP IR Mini Dome Review

I reviewed the popular bullet version of this camera a few months ago and now I’m covering the IR mini dome version. Again with IR illuminators, WDR, Smart IR and digital noise reduction. They are small for an IR dome and work well in specific situations.

SWANN HD-820CAM (Hikvision DS-2CD2032) 1080P IR Bullet

This is another bargain brought to us by Costco.com, the Swann 1080P IR Bullets, at press time, $349 for two of them. Originally designed to work as part of their NVR package, I took a look at it as a standalone camera. This camera is manufactured by Hikvision and is OEM’ed to various companies, Swann and Lorax included. Hikvision is selling the camera as the DS-2CD2032 with the added bonus that it’s capable of not only 1080P, but also 3MP mode.  At this time, Costco.com seems to switching to the Lorax branded version of this camera.
